Cara Helberg, Executive Director, California Office
Cara has worked in adoption for 25 years. Her experience is in both domestic and international adoption. Four years ago she adopted her twelve year old daughter and realized that her mission was to work on finding families for older children and to try to better educate and support families on the adoption of older children. Cara has run programs domestically and internationally and she has completed adoptions from over 20 countries. She has three wonderful daughters who all do volunteer work for Angels’ Haven.
Brian Helberg, CPA, CFO, California Office
Brian has been involved in the field of adoption for 18 years. Brian has a degree in Business Administration and he is a Certified Public Accountant. Additionally, Brian is an adoptive parent and has three daughters. He is passionate about finding homes for older children and working on cultural exchanges for children from various countries.
Joe Ramirez, LCSW - Director of Social Services, California Office
Joe Ramirez has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA and received his Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University in 1984. Joe is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He is passionate about his work with children and families. Joe has been a part of Angels Haven Outreach's social work staff for over 11 years now.
Barbara Davis MSW, LICSW - Director of Social Services, Vermont Office
Barbara ia a licensed clinical social worker who has been in the field for 40 years. For the past 30 years she has concentrated on adoption work. Barbara has traveled to Russia, China, and Guatemala to see the adoption process firsthand. These trips have given her a great appreciation of the emotional experience that adoptive families experience as they move through their process Furthering her understanding of adoption has been her work with birth parents and adopted persons. Barbara has been the Director of Social Services in the Vermont office since its establishment.
Darcy Kennedy, LCSW - Social Worker
Darcy has worked in international adoption for over ten years. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology and her Master's of Social Work in 1994 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the States of California and Oregon. She has also worked as a family, substance abuse and mental health therapist, as well as a clinician for a city community services board. Darcy is passionate about adoption and devoted to the families she works with throughout the adoption process.
Robert Woolridge, MSW - Social Worker
Robert has worked for Angels’ Haven Outreach since early 2006. Assisting families who wish to adopt orphans internationally has always been his passion and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the international adoption arena. Robert also specializes in working with older foster youth and assisting them in their efforts to achieve permanency. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University. He is a dedicated father and husband and is truly inspired to find loving and caring homes for the orphans of the world.
Emma Johnson, MSW - Social Worker
Emma has worked in the fields of foster care and adoption since 1999. She earned her Masters Degree in social work in 2004 from the University of Illinois and she has also worked in family reunification and counseling. Emma was born and raised in Korea, and she became passionate about adoption at an early age. She believes that every child deserves a permanent family and home in which they can thrive, and she is passionate about helping children and families find one another.
Cara Suh Le Jeune, MSW - Social Worker
Cara earned her Masters Degree in Social Work. She was in the top 1% of all social workers nationwide in the year that she graduated. Cara was adopted from Korea and is, as a result, quite passionate about adoption. She has been active in adoption work since she was a teenager.
Linda Lipscomb, LCSW - Social Worker
Linda has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Portland State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in The State of California. She has been working in adoption since 1990 and has done domestic, foster-adopt, international adoptions, and post-placement supervision. When she is not working with adoptive families Linda has a small private practice as a therapist, volunteers with the American Red Cross, and is active with the local National Association of Social Workers. Linda finds it incredibly rewarding to help people complete their families.
Annette Eastman, LCSW - Social Worker
Annette has worked in the field of adoption for over 25 years. Her experience includes domestic open-adoptions foster care and foster-adopt programs. For the past seven years she has worked primarily in international adoption, doing homestudies and post adoption reports for families throughout the Bay Area.
